A closer look.
Orthopaedic conditions are a varied group, so knowing the specific diagnosis, treatment and current veterinary instructions is important. Rehabilitation planning also considers movement, confidence, comfort and the demands of the dog’s usual activities.
A useful goal describes something that matters in daily life, then leaves room for the clinician to consider how to approach it. Ask how proposed assessments or therapies relate to that goal and how the plan will be reviewed.
Questions to take into a conversation.
- Which details from the veterinary history are most relevant?
- How can we express our priorities as useful goals?
- What will help us review the plan together?
A Huxley explanation, in time.
