IVDD and spinal disease: questions for the next step

Making sense of rehabilitation begins with knowing what has already been agreed with your veterinary team.

A closer look.

Intervertebral disc disease and other spinal conditions are not one uniform rehabilitation journey. Veterinary findings, any surgery, current abilities and existing instructions need to guide the next conversation. Another dog’s experience is not a timetable for yours.

Bring the information you have and the practical questions you are living with. Handling, home arrangements, follow-up visits and communication between teams are all useful topics. A clear plan should say who to contact when something changes.

Questions to take into a conversation.

  • Which veterinary records should be shared before assessment?
  • How will the plan reflect the instructions we already have?
  • Who is our contact for changes or concerns?

A Huxley explanation, in time.
