Assessment informs the pathway.

House of Hound brings together veterinary physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercise and movement assessment. Gait and stance analysis, EKICO software and boots, and assessment on land and in water can help inform the clinical picture.

Available modalities also include pool and underwater treadmill work, land-based treadmill work, Class 3B and Class 4 laser, and WINBACK BACK4 / TECAR. Their inclusion in a plan depends on the individual patient and the relevant clinical assessment.

Useful context for a referral.

The reason for referral, relevant history, current veterinary management and any precautions provide a starting point for assessment. Functional goals, owner circumstances and handling considerations can also be valuable.

Our referral area sets out the intended information route. The preview form does not transmit referrals or clinical records.

  • Describe the clinical question and relevant diagnosis or investigations.
  • Include current care, restrictions and important precautions.
  • Share the owner’s priorities and relevant patient behaviour.

Keep the conversation connected.

Collaborative care benefits from a clear understanding of professional responsibilities, what is being reviewed and when further veterinary input is needed.

Practitioner details, verified qualifications, report arrangements and secure document-sharing processes will be confirmed before the live referral service is launched.
