Frequently asked questions
A clearer answer to the next question.
Useful starting points for owners exploring care, preparing for a visit or returning to House of Hound.
Getting started.
An assessment is an opportunity to understand your dog’s circumstances before choosing an approach. You do not need to decide which piece of equipment or treatment they need before asking about care.
Something more individual?
Questions about your own dog’s diagnosis, current symptoms or clinical instructions need the team responsible for their care. General website information cannot answer those questions safely or accurately.
Do I need to choose a treatment before I get in touch?
No. An assessment is the starting point for understanding your dog’s needs. The available treatments and technologies offer different options; which are appropriate depends on the individual dog and the clinical picture.
Does every dog use the pool or underwater treadmill?
No. The approach is individual. Assessment on land, therapeutic exercise, physiotherapy, water-based work and other modalities may serve different purposes within a plan. Having a range of equipment does not mean every dog needs to use it.
Will you need information from my vet?
Relevant veterinary information helps inform a rehabilitation assessment. The centre’s specific referral and consent requirements will be confirmed with the live appointment process. Ask what is required before arranging a first visit.
My dog finds new places difficult. Can I mention that?
Yes. Information about unfamiliar environments, handling, travel and other worries is part of understanding your dog. Share what you have noticed and what usually helps so those needs can be discussed before a visit.
Where can I book, see or change my appointments?
Open the client portal for live booking, registration and sign-in through House of Hound’s existing Acuity scheduler. Acuity handles real appointments and account access; available change options depend on the centre’s settings. The portal also includes a separately labelled fictional appointment preview.
Why might an appointment not appear in my Acuity account?
Acuity displays appointments associated with that account. Check the information supplied with the appointment and use the centre’s confirmed contact route if you need help locating it. The local website preview contains fictional appointments only.
Will my insurance cover rehabilitation?
Cover depends on your own policy and insurer. Check treatment and practitioner requirements, limits, excesses, authorisation and required paperwork before arranging care. A referral does not itself guarantee reimbursement.
Can I follow an exercise programme from this website?
The learning library helps explain rehabilitation. It does not provide an individual exercise prescription. Follow the plan given by the professionals responsible for your dog, and ask them to clarify anything that is uncertain or difficult to manage.
Can I send a referral, video or enquiry through this preview?
The forms currently demonstrate the intended experience. Entries are not sent or saved, and selected files are not uploaded. Use fictional information only until a verified submission route is available.
Where are the prices and centre arrival details?
Verified fees, the full address, parking arrangements, opening hours and contact details are still to be added. The relevant pages identify these outstanding details without inventing them.
