Huxley explains land-based rehabilitation equipment

Start with the purpose of an activity, then consider whether a particular piece of equipment belongs in it.

A closer look.

Rehabilitation equipment can look simple or technical, but appearance does not establish suitability. The useful questions concern the dog’s current abilities, the clinical purpose and how they respond to the task and environment.

A piece of equipment seen in a centre or video is not automatically suitable for use at home. Ask the team what, if anything, belongs in your individual plan and what explanation or demonstration you need before using it.

Questions to take into a conversation.

  • What is this equipment being used to explore or support?
  • Is equipment needed for the work agreed for our home?
  • What should I understand before trying an agreed activity?

A Huxley explanation, in time.

Video footage is forthcoming. This is an image placeholder, not a playable video. The written guide is available now; a real House of Hound YouTube video can be added when supplied.

Download the written guide and its questions as a plain text file to read or print. It is general owner education, rather than an individual home rehabilitation plan.

Connect this to your dog’s care.
