Huxley explains a movement assessment

The first task is to understand the dog, not to select a piece of equipment.

A closer look.

A movement assessment draws together different kinds of information: veterinary history, owner observations, daily function, behaviour and clinical findings. Land, water, gait, stance or technology may contribute where there is a reason to use them.

Owners bring knowledge that an appointment alone cannot supply. Explain what a normal day looks like, what has changed and what matters most. The resulting discussion should connect assessment findings with an individual plan and clear next steps.

Questions to take into a conversation.

  • What information should I share before we arrive?
  • Why are particular assessment methods being considered?
  • How will the findings translate into a plan we understand?

A Huxley explanation, in time.

Video footage is forthcoming. This is an image placeholder, not a playable video. The written guide is available now; a real House of Hound YouTube video can be added when supplied.

Keep a copy for your next appointment.

Download the written guide and its questions as a plain text file to read or print. It is general owner education, rather than an individual home rehabilitation plan.

Connect this to your dog’s care.
