HOUSE OF HOUND | LEARN WITH HUXLEY Sample owner education · Website concept 03 Huxley explains a movement assessment Treatments & technology The first task is to understand the dog, not to select a piece of equipment. A movement assessment draws together different kinds of information: veterinary history, owner observations, daily function, behaviour and clinical findings. Land, water, gait, stance or technology may contribute where there is a reason to use them. Owners bring knowledge that an appointment alone cannot supply. Explain what a normal day looks like, what has changed and what matters most. The resulting discussion should connect assessment findings with an individual plan and clear next steps. QUESTIONS FOR YOUR NEXT CONVERSATION 1. What information should I share before we arrive? 2. Why are particular assessment methods being considered? 3. How will the findings translate into a plan we understand? Discuss your dog’s circumstances with the veterinary and rehabilitation teams. Huxley doesn’t define. Huxley doesn’t diagnose. Huxley doesn’t prescribe. Huxley doesn’t assume. Huxley doesn’t stereotype. He empathises. He empowers. He educates. “See the dog, not just the diagnosis.”
