Behaviour has a place in the whole-dog conversation. Specialist clinical behaviour and consultancy also deserve a clear professional identity of their own.
Clinical behaviour work can sit alongside physical assessment and rehabilitation when appropriate. The starting point is a conversation about the individual dog, their circumstances and the question being referred.
Our rehabilitation team also considers the dog’s emotional experience, environment and response to the appointment. That everyday consideration does not replace a dedicated clinical behaviour assessment.
The wider behaviour service has its own professional identity and can work independently with owners and other organisations. Its future website will explain the scope of that work, the practitioner’s verified credentials and the appropriate enquiry route.
The two services can share a clinical conversation where appropriate, while keeping their roles and communication clear.
