Part of a bigger picture.

Water is one of the environments available to us when exploring how your dog moves. At House of Hound, hydrotherapy sits alongside movement assessment, physiotherapy and land-based rehabilitation. The choice of environment begins with understanding the individual dog.

Pool work and the underwater treadmill offer different ways to approach movement. We consider the reason for referral, your dog’s comfort and confidence, and the aims of their rehabilitation before discussing which approach may be appropriate.

What we consider

  • Pool and underwater treadmill options
  • Assessment on land and in water
  • Attention to comfort and confidence

What to expect

  • Talk through your dog’s history and everyday movement.
  • Discuss the purpose of any suggested water-based work.
  • Review observations alongside the wider rehabilitation plan.
