A purpose within the plan.

The underwater treadmill is one of several ways we can explore and support your dog’s movement. It is considered alongside pool hydrotherapy, land-based work and the other treatments available within the centre.

We look at more than the equipment itself. Your dog’s assessment, comfort and confidence help shape the plan, while observations on land and in water contribute to our understanding of their individual movement.

What comes into the conversation

  • Why this environment may be relevant to the assessment.
  • Your dog’s experience of the treadmill, water and surrounding space.
  • How observations in water relate to movement in everyday life.

The shape of a visit

  • Discuss the role of the underwater treadmill in the proposed plan.
  • Allow the team to consider your dog’s response to the environment.
  • Talk through what was observed and how the plan will be reviewed.
