A purpose within the plan.

Land-based treadmill work sits within our range of rehabilitation and movement options. It may be considered alongside therapeutic exercise, water-based work and assessment technology, depending on the individual plan.

We take account of your dog’s familiarity with the equipment as well as their physical needs. The aim of the conversation is to make the purpose clear: why this environment is being considered and how it connects with their wider care.

What comes into the conversation

  • The intended role of treadmill work in the plan.
  • Your dog’s response to the equipment and surrounding environment.
  • How observations relate to other movement assessments.

The shape of a visit

  • Share your dog’s previous experience of treadmill work, if any.
  • Discuss the rationale for including land-based work.
  • Review what was observed and what happens next.
