Before an appointment
Bring the information the team has requested and make a note of changes or questions since the last visit. Confirm practical details such as arrival, what to bring and any individual preparation instructions directly with the centre.
After an appointment
Make sure you understand your dog’s own written plan, who to contact with questions and the agreed review arrangements. General website information does not replace the instructions given by your veterinary and rehabilitation team.
A useful conversation about home
Flooring, stairs, getting into a car, rest spaces, walking routines and equipment can all be useful topics to discuss. Describe the parts of home life that are easy, difficult or hard to change so the team can understand the practical context.
- Ask for clarification if an instruction is unclear.
- Discuss whether the proposed routine is realistic for your household.
- Use your agreed plan for exercise type, amount and progression.
- Keep a brief note of the observations you want to discuss at review.
Learn at your own pace
Huxley’s guides explain ideas behind rehabilitation and everyday support. The planned video library and owner downloads provide another way to revisit those conversations without turning general education into a personal prescription.
