HOUSE OF HOUND | LEARN WITH HUXLEY Sample owner education · Website concept 03 Body condition: a conversation without judgement Understanding conditions Food, treats, activity and home routines belong in a practical discussion tailored to the individual dog. A body-condition conversation works best when it reflects real life. Feeding routines, the people involved, food used in training and any current veterinary advice are all useful details. The purpose is understanding and support, not blame. The veterinary team should guide individual nutritional and weight-management decisions. Rehabilitation planning can then take that advice into account alongside current movement, comfort and the activities available to the dog. QUESTIONS FOR YOUR NEXT CONVERSATION 1. Who will guide our dog’s nutrition and body-condition plan? 2. How should we discuss treats used in sessions? 3. How will activity goals reflect the advice already in place? Discuss your dog’s circumstances with the veterinary and rehabilitation teams. Huxley doesn’t define. Huxley doesn’t diagnose. Huxley doesn’t prescribe. Huxley doesn’t assume. Huxley doesn’t stereotype. He empathises. He empowers. He educates. “See the dog, not just the diagnosis.”
